Nostalgia Collection, The

A new collector's set featuring the nostalgic work of cult filmmaker Toby Ross, The Nostalgia Collection is a masterclass of underground gay erotica. The six-disc collection includes the titles Bill Eld: American Pop Culture Icon, Cruisin' 57, Rock n Roll Dreams, Paper Dreams, Toby Ross and the '70s and Once in a Blue Moon.

Originally released in 1975, Cruisin' 57 is the only adult film to have played in the Pop Montreal Festival to a packed house with a full live band. Michael Muni tells of his crushes and flings as he finds his school a bedrock of erotic fantasies. We get the car hops, the cloths, the one-liners and those clean-cut, baby-faced, all-American boys.

Paper Dreams depicts the golden age of the gay adult magazine industry between 1966 and 1973. In that window of time, thousands of men posed for photographers to make some quick cash. They shined brightly and briefly before fading away, but some of their stories are told here.

In the documentary Toby Ross and the '70s, the director himself tells the real story behind casting and producing his theatrical features from the 1970's against the backdrop of a jubilant San Francisco. In Bill Eld: American Pop Culture Icon, he focuses on his muse for an emotional docudrama that tells the life story of one of the industry's sexiest men.

Rock'n'roll Dreams is an erotic time travel story that follows a young guitar player auditioning for a very lascivious Phil Spector and a Berkley teacher preaching love not war. Finally, in Once in a Blue Moon, offers up a series of thoughtful, erotic and often deeply romantic vignettes.
